Group Homes for Disabled Youth

posted on July 14, 2018

We have over 30 group homes found throughout some of Edmonton's best neighbourhoods. Our Youth Residential Care Program is for individuals under 17.

Communication

We focus on building relationships with our clients and their families that are founded on complete trust and transparency. From the very first phone call we have with you, we are there to provide full support, guiding you through information finding and the deliberation process. We have been serving those with developmental disabilities for over two decades and we understand that the decision to place your child in a group home is not one taken lightly.

Open communication is a cornerstone for the success we have with our clients. We have even developed our own care software, Twill, that will keep you and the ones that matter most connected.

Consultation

During that first call we receive, we will book an in-person consultation. This is our learning phase. Our team will meet with you, and any other stakeholders you wish to be present, to chat about your child. In order for us to determine the level and kind of care that is required, we want to really get to know them.

This consultation and learning phase is key; once we get further into the process, we will peer-match with some of our other clients placed in our group homes to find the best possible living situation for your child. You will be taken on tours of the homes as well before a placement is confirmed!

Care

We take a great deal of pride in our team; Entrust employees are highly-qualified, compassionate, and completely dedicated to providing the highest level of care to your child. Comprehensive around-the-clock care in our group homes includes:

  • Meal Preparation
  • Recreational Services (community inclusion is a big part of our care and wellness plans!)
  • Transportation Assistance
  • Medication Administration
  • Bathing Aids
  • Behavioural Modelling and Support

For our high-school students, we go a step-further and provide full support in coordinating with key stakeholders at their school, like teachers and counsellors. We work towards helping our clients find their independence, and the experiences your child has in school are critical. We want them to thrive, learn and grow!
