A Message from our C.E.O.

posted on June 02, 2017

An ancient Chinese proverb says: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago.”

Twenty years ago, a seed was planted by our founder, Kevin Hatch. The purpose of sowing the seed was to provide a service that made sense for various Albertan stakeholders. There was a need for a service that was flexible enough to suit a diverse set of needs and strong enough to endure the test of time.

"As people came to the organization, willing to provide the most essential elements of human existence: empathy, compassion, ingenuity, fortitude and dedication have abounded from our organization’s members. The giving of personal energy and ability helped Entrust to develop into a learning organization. We are continually learning about the needs and capabilities of human beings. We are learning about the importance of diversity and how enriching it is, not only in our organization, but in the community in which we live. We have learned the importance of best practices and the value of planning and collaboration.

Most importantly, we have learned to remain immoveable in our desire to truly commit to those we serve. Our branches are stretched wide to try to meet people’s needs while our roots reach out throughout the region to both past and present members of our organization help to keep us strong in the landscape.

20 years is a milestone, one worth some reflection and celebration. However, in the context of our mission “to empower people to live lives they choose through best practice”, 20 years is only a marker for how far we can go. There is so much more to do. There is far more to learn. We are in the right place with the right people to continue what we set out to do." - Tilton Reed
