Partnership Success Story with Entrust Disability Services

"Glengarry Child Care Society has been providing high quality childcare services to children and families since 1969. Our primary goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment to children while parents pursue employment and educational opportunities. We welcome children of all abilities, including those with developmental needs, so it seemed a perfect fit when we partnered with Entrust Disability Services to provide volunteer opportunities for their clients.

Volunteer Program Growth and Impact

We started out with 1 volunteer serving as kitchen assistant to help with baking for the children's daily snacks. Quickly it grew to 6 regular volunteers that come in weekly and take care of a number of essential tasks. These tasks include folding laundry, pet care for our facility animals, toy cleaning and sanitization, and kitchen assistance with meal preparation. We were very happy to offer a fulltime paid position to one of our dedicated volunteers in March 2016. This continues to be an amazing partnership that benefits our childcare programs and the clients of Entrust Disability Services."
