Bringing Neighbourhoods Together

Bringing Neighbourhoods Together

Jul 17, 2017

For those with disabilities, it is often times difficult to find a place within a community. There are a number of barriers which can prevent individuals from making meaningful connections with others. With over 30 events hosted by Entrust homes over the summer, our annual Ice Cream Social plays a big part in breaking down these barriers.

We have 34 homes throughout Edmonton in neighbourhoods including Brintnel, Klarvatten, and Silver Berry, where individuals with a range of disabilities live with support from the Entrust care team. With the goal of providing ample opportunities for our clients to live fulfilling lives, the Ice Cream Social brings neighbourhoods together, allowing our clients to actively be a part of the community.

On the flip side, it is also beneficial for those living around our homes to meet our clients and team; we always get a great turn out from the neighbourhoods. These events are perfect from those that know a thing or two about disabilities and the importance of programs similar to those provided by Entrust, and also for those who are eager to learn more and meet some new friends.

If you are interested in stopping by one of our events and wondering if there will be one in your neighbourhood this summer, please give us a call or drop us a line and we would be happy to fill you in on the details.
